Murphy Elementary School is located in the heart of downtown Murphy, North Carolina.  Murphy Elementary is one of the largest elementary schools in Cherokee County, serving grades Pre-K through 5th grade.

 

Murphy Elementary believes in creating a positive and safe learning environment.  All staff members strive to create learning experiences that are both engaging and rigorous.  Through the use of technology, we hope to prepare students for their future by developing the necessary skills needed for the 21st century.  Cherokee County Schools is moving to an exclusive Apple platform, resulting in 1-1 Apple iPads for every student. This project will phase in over two years. Until the completion, students will be using a mix of Apple iPads and Chromebook devices.

 

Through the use of grants, Murphy Elementary offers all students free breakfast and lunch. Murphy Elementary provides guidance, music, art, physical education, and library classes to all students.  A variety of programs and clubs, such as:  Art Club, Chorus, and Honors Chorus. Murphy Elementary also houses a 21st-century after-school program that provides tutoring, art, and STEM activities.
