About

Murphy Elementary School is located in the heart of downtown Murphy, North Carolina.  Murphy Elementary is one of the largest elementary schools in Cherokee County, serving grades Pre-K through 5th grade.

Murphy Elementary believes in creating a positive and safe learning environment.  All staff members strive to create learning experiences that are both engaging and rigorous.  Through the use of technology, we hope to prepare students for their future by developing the necessary skills needed for the 21st century.   Students in fourth and fifth-grade classes have access to Chromebooks, while k-3 students have access to iPad carts and desktop computers.

Through the use of grants, Murphy Elementary is able to offer all students free breakfast and lunch. Murphy Elementary provides guidance, music, art, physical education and library classes to all students.  A variety of programs and clubs including Battle of the Books, Art Club, Chorus, and a 21st-century after-school program that provides tutoring, art, and STEM activities are also offered to students.

Our Mission: The mission of Murphy Elementary School, in partnership with our community, is to encourage our students to be respectful, responsible, safe and life-long learners through teaching and positive reinforcement.

Our Vision: The vision of Murphy Elementary School is to enrich the lives of our community's children by providing guidance through challenging and diverse learning experiences in a safe, nurturing, and respectful environment where parents and community support are linked to student success.
